Samir was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He felt in love with the sport of volleyball at the young age of 10 years. Played in school, club, and college until the age of 20 years were while playing in college suffer a career-ending knee injury. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management and a Minor in Computer Science. His Volleyball Coaching career started in 2005 and has been actively coaching at club level for almost 15 years, different age groups, and levels girls and boys.

In March 2018 he decided to move with his family to Orlando in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria and has been coaching at Top Select since July 2018. His passion is to be able to continue teaching the sport he loves, and it's extremely committed to developing players with a complete technical, physical, and psychological approach.
