PERSONAL INFORMATION

Marcela, a native of Brazil, started playing volleyball at the age of 10.  She was a three-time all-state selection in high school. Out of high school, she was a member of the Northern Kentucky volleyball squad for two seasons, where she  received the 2002-03 and 2003-04 AVCA Team Academic Award and made the GLVC All-Academic Team both years.

After starting her collegiate playing career at Northern Kentucky, Marcela earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from West Florida where she was also a standout player for the Argonauts for three years, helping lead the program to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history in 2006.

During her career as a setter at West Florida, Marcela was named to the All-Gulf South Conference second team and the GSC All-Academic team on her Senior year. She also has her name on the Argo record books, as she is ranked on the Top 5 for Career Assists and Individual Match Highs in Assists.
